In this episode of Under the Comic Covers, Grace and I do things a bit differently… first of all, we have announced our plans to spin-off from our cozy home at The Walking Dead’Cast, and have been given the finest send off I could imagine thanks to a lovely primer to our upcoming new podcast posted by Jason at walkingdeadcast.com (read it here), which goes into great detail about what we will be covering and the exciting news of who we interviewed for the first episode (Charlie Adlard, illustrator of The Walking Dead himself!). In addition to that, we conducted our first interview with David S.E. Zapanta, creator of HairBat, Melancholy Greetings, and Posthumous (my review), and of course, we dig into Issue #122 of The Walking Dead.
As always, be forewarned that we cover the latest issue of the comic, so if you aren’t caught up… listen anyway, the more listeners the merrier (or at the very least, listen for the interview and/or our announcement with regards to Under the Comic Covers).
Make sure you subscribe to The Walking Dead’Cast so you don’t miss a single episode, and once Under the Comic Covers becomes available on iTunes, you all will be the first to know. Plus, we will still be doing the Comic Talk segment on The Waking Dead’Cast following each new episode of AMC’s The Walking Dead, where we compare each episode of the show with the comic.
If you have any questions or comments for Grace or I, send mail to our new email address, email@example.com… like us on Facebook at facebook.com/underthecomiccovers… follow us on Twitter @UTCCovers… and visit our Tumblr page at underthecomiccovers.com.
This is a ridiculously exciting period for us as we launch this new endeavor, and I couldn’t have asked for a greater partner and co-host than Grace, and to have so much support from Jason and Karen at The Walking Dead’Cast. I would be remiss if I didn’t acknowledge all of the amazing feedback and letters we have received from the listeners and a special shout out to the fine people at roamersandlurkers.com for their continued comments and messages. Also, a very special thanks to Kirk Manley for coming up with some amazing artwork for our cast… and when the first episode drops, you will hear some very cool music supplied by my great friend, artist/DJ/producer Romanowski.
