Every time I feel annoyed at another remake or reboot, I simply imagine what it must have been like for our grandparents and parents to see all of the films of their time remade for a modern era… because fact is, remakes are as old as the industry itself. I imagine what has been rankling many of our (my) generation is that they are now remaking the films of our childhood… and it feels odd. How can you possibly remake a movie of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s without Arnie himself? I believe we are about to find out.
I was somewhat lukewarm about the idea of remaking Total Recall, another film based on a Philip K. Dick short story, but after having seen the trailer, I’m on-board. My understanding is that they have cut any story-line regarding Mars… and after seeing the trailer, am comforted that they at least have the three breasted woman in it. I’m good….
Three hands? What about three legs?
