DVD of the Week: Inception

Cobb's top

Today, Christopher Nolan’s Inception is being released on DVD and Blu-Ray… if you have already seen this film, chances are you enjoyed, if not loved this movie.  If you have not… do yourself a favor… buy or rent this movie today and watch it as soon as feasibly possible.

Mrs. Blahg, being the contrarian she is, has not yet had the pleasure of watching this…. can’t say she was as interested as I was…. but as I believe Nolan was making a comment on film making itself with this story… by making the point that although we can’t share dreams (yet), making a film is about as close as we get to having the shared dreamlike experience… I wish to share the experience I had in being totally engrossed in what I believe to be the best film of 2010.

I’m not going to bother with my usual recap of the plot, chances are you are already very aware of both the plot and the outcome (I didn’t say you understood it, just are aware).  What I will do however, is to share the trailer… then immediately after that, a little YouTube clip giving a little musical clue to what the ending may really mean.  If you haven’t seen the film, don’t watch the second clip… if you have, watch it before seeing the movie again and you may chuckle at how clever Christopher Nolan really is.  It is my belief that we are fortunate to live in a world where and when that man is making movies…. we may not realize it yet, but I think he is redefining the art with each new release and will probably not be fully appreciated in our lifetime.  Of course… that is just my opinion.

So buy this, rent it or stream it (legally of course)… just see this film!
